We need to paint our house this year and I'm trying to decide on a new color combination. This is just too much brown. I'd like to use blue, but would that look funny with the stone front? I can't decide.

We have a little bit of snow on our roof, and it sounds like some more is coming this week. March is here on Thursday, and I'm ready for spring.

This is what our mailbox looked like this morning after the snow plow came through. I haven't heard yet how much we got, but it looks close to 12 inches. And it's still snowing. I'm just glad it happened over the weekend, I hate to drive to work in this stuff.

Its' snowing on Goldenrod Street today. We're supposed to get 12 inches before it's done tomorrow. Hopefully this is our last blast of winter this year.

Amanda has a new hat. She's really into the bands that have been around a while, like the Beatles, the Monkees, Queen, Styx, etc. She went to see the Steve Miller Band with me last summer and she loved it. Anyway, we went to Target because she lost one of her gloves. Too late, no more gloves. Now if you want flip flops or beach bags, you're in luck. Minnesota in February. So we settled for this hat. Best band there ever was.

We have a lot of puzzles at our house. My husband and my daughter are puzzle whizzes. I'm a putzer. I like to get out a puzzle and put in a few pieces here and there, taking my time. My husband comes along, sits down, and it's done. I give up.

What can I say, I love fonts. Do I use them? Maybe 2 0r 3. I still have to have them.

When my in laws sold their house and moved into a townhouse, my mother in law gave me some cool stuff she didn't have room for. I love old stuff like this.

It was in the 40's today. And my Forsythia has buds. Spring is coming!

Sunday, February 18, 2007

Snow is starting to melt off the roof a little and drip onto the forsythia bush. It re-melted into this weird sideways icicle.

Saturday, February 17, 2007

Just a basket of pot pourri, but I love the texture and color.

Friday, February 16, 2007

My CD collection has outgrown my CD rack. I need one of those big towers. This isn't all of them, there's quite a few in my car. My new favorite band is Death Cab For Cutie. I just got their CD and I love it!

I took this with the macro setting on my camera. Turned out pretty good, I thought.

Here are the loves of my life. Happy Valentine's Day!

I spend way too much time in front of this computer. I can't even remember what I did before I had a computer. Something constructive, I'm sure. See the post-it notes? I'm addicted to post-it notes. So I can't live without my computer and all different sizes of post-it notes. Pretty sad.

I was glad to see that the little Lilac bush I planted last summer has buds on it. It's been so cold, I was worrying about whether it would make it through the winter. Spring is on the way!

Apparently getting a new street sign is a complicated proposition. The original one got knocked down somehow, and we didn't have one for the longest time. Then they put up a pole. The pole was there for at least 6 months before they attached a sign to it. It's a lot easier to direct people to your house when there's a street sign there. Welcome to Goldenrod Street.

Josh loves playing baseball. The recent cold weather has been the longest stretch we've had since we've lived here. He asks me almost daily why we had to move to Minnesota. If we still lived in Georgia he could play baseball year round, almost. So here his pitchback sits, waiting for spring.

I love, love, love Yankee candles. These are just a few of mine. My favorite is Hot Buttered Rum, but they don't make it anymore. The funny thing is, winter is really the only time I burn them.

Thursday, February 8, 2007

The temperature made it all the way up into the teens today. Is it spring yet?

Wednesday, February 7, 2007

This is our roofline. Snow, snow and more snow.

Tuesday, February 6, 2007

My neighbor has a big, beautiful pine tree. After work I had to wade through all the new snow and get a picture of it with the snow on it.

Monday, February 5, 2007

Just Amanda and Snoopy hanging out. You can see how much Snoopy likes to get his picture taken.

My daughter's having a Super Bowl party today. I'll be upstairs, watching..... anything but football. I will be watching the half time show, though. I love Prince.

Saturday, February 3, 2007

Today was my niece Emma's bowling party for her 7th birthday. 16 six and seven year olds. Yikes. It was fun, though. We're all pretty excited that Emma is going to be a big sister in September.

Friday, February 2, 2007

I thought on the coldest day of the year (so far), we needed a little greenery.

I have a lot of collections, but this was my first. I've been collecting bells for a long time and so far I have 61. I haven't bought any lately because the china cabinet is full, so I need a new shelf if I get any more.
